Stephen qualified in London and spent the first few years of his career working in various OMFS units. He had his own practice in Oxford before starting work for Dental Protection in 2000. In 2018 he moved to MDDUS where latterly he was the head of the Dental Division. Since leaving MDDUS in the autumn of 2023 he has been working as an independent dental adviser. He is a Specialist in Oral Surgery and has many years of experience in assisting members of the dental team with regulatory cases, complaints and claims in negligence in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong Singapore and Malaysia.

Towards the end of his practicing career he volunteered as a dentist in Tanzania and Somaliland for different charities, and with Mercy Ships where he served in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Now retired, Paul spends his time in a church leadership role, volunteering with the National Trust, some local history research, enjoying his grandchildren and beachcombing.

Victoria graduated in 1999 from Sheffield and works as a GDP in Newbury, Berkshire. She has an LLM in Medical Law from Northumbria University and as such has a keen interest in clinical negligence, dental law and regulation. Her LLM dissertation was on the GDC Fitness to Practise Procedures.

Dr Alun Rees BDS, The Dental Business Coach, graduated from Newcastle University and started his career as an oral surgery resident, before working as an associate in a range of different practices. With this solid foundation, Alun went on to launch two practices in the space of just 15 months, a challenge in the toughest economic conditions. After years of hard work Alun finally sold his dental business in 2005.
Alun’s background and experience give him a strong understanding of what others go through to build a successful practice. He has seen many different approaches and learned his own lessons in the real world. He is an accepted authority of practice organisation and management and has written and presented widely on the subject.
A CTI trained coach and Kolbe consultant, Alun now runs The Dental Business Coach to offer specific and specialised support for dentists and their teams. He has served as a media representative for both the BDA and BDHF and has featured on BBC2, Sky TV and various radio stations.
Based between South Wales and West Cork Alun works with clients throughout the UK, Ireland and beyond, Alun understands and appreciates the challenges, both large and small, that face dentists every day.

Tony was a dentist in a family practice in Manchester, he is now retired from clinical work. He established GDPUK as a platform for dentists to communicate online in 1997. This has grown to be one of the most visited sites in UK dentistry. Tony is married with three grown up children.
