Rules changed in GDP Orthodontics

GDPs who wish to offer orthodontic treatments in their surgery now have the support of your very own team of registered specialist orthodontists. LR Orthodontists are unique by being the only provider who is there for dentists throughout each and every case. They assign a named specialist orthodontist to each and every case for diagnosis and treatment planning.

'LR Orthodontic Technique' is designed for the GDP to be able to offer Limited Treatment Outcome (LTO) Orthodontics in their own practice safe in the knowledge that specialist help is easily available when they want it.

With LR Support they are with the dentist every step of the way, offering specialist diagnosis and treatment planning for patients and specialist support and mentoring during treatment.

LR Original is a custom made appliance that utilises the latest in dental materials to provide a small, discreet appliance to deliver orthodontic forces to the teeth to effectively straighten them. The appliances use light metal spring forces to apply pressure to both sides of the teeth that need aligning. These gentle physio-biological forces mould the teeth into alignment.

LR Advance is a fixed appliance using the highest quality clear brackets combined with ultra light arch wires making it almost invisible. Following your training you will be able to place bands, clear brackets and arch wires and to be able to provide all the necessary information for case selection. This will allow accurate diagnosis and treatment planning to be provided by our orthodontic specialist to whom the case will be assigned and who will supervise all the steps along to completion.

LR Clear is a system of clear aligners which will gently re-position teeth to the agreed outcome. They are not suitable for every case and may take longer to achieve to optimal result but some patients prefer the 'invisibility' of this way of correcting their appearance.

GDPUK Ltd today announces the sale of its intellectual property assets to Cogora Group, one of the UK's leading publishers of healthcare brands, events and educational platforms.

The decision to sell GDPUK’s intellectual property forms part of a considered transition to ensure the long‑term stewardship and development of the brand and associated assets. Cogora brings a wealth of experience and expertise to support the continued evolution of the dentistry brand within its wide portfolio of market-leading healthcare publications. Its award-winning titles include Pulse, a long‑standing and widely recognised source of political news and clinical education for GPs, Nursing in Practice, Management in Practice, The Pharmacist, Pulse PCN and Healthcare Leader, as well as two secondary care publications – Hospital Healthcare Europe and Hospital Pharmacy Europe. The purchase will cement Cogora as the biggest publisher of primary care titles in the UK and allow it to bring its expertise in providing news, analysis, opinion and groundbreaking stories to GDPUK, as well as continue giving dentists and dental staff a voice through its website.

“After careful consideration, we believe that Cogora is well positioned to take GDPUK’s intellectual property forward,” said Tony Jacobs, founder, editor and publisher of GDPUK.com . “This transaction provides continuity for the professional community associated with GDPUK and creates opportunities for future growth under experienced ownership.”

Tony will continue involvement in GDPUK on a consulting basis.

GDPUK Ltd has worked to ensure an orderly transfer of the intellectual property and wishes Cogora every success in its future development.
