A quartet of financial investors is in the running to buy Oasis Healthcare, the UK’s second-largest private dental chain, for as much as £160m, according to a report in the Sunday Telegraph. It is believed a total of seven potential bidders received management presentations from dental chain Oasis.

OFT launches campaign on patients’ rights at dentist
 

The Office of Fair Trading has launched a new campaign to help patients understand more about their rights when visiting the dentist. The 'Right to Smile' campaign, which is supported by the British Dental Association, private dentistry providers and a number of consumer groups, has been launched to help patients make informed decisions, understand more about their entitlements to NHS treatment, and know what their options are if things go wrong.

A new study confirms the emotional transmission of dentist fear among family members and analyses the different roles that mothers and fathers might play. The research, conducted by scientists at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, highlights the important role that fathers especially play in the transmission of dentist fear in their family.

Last week Google released their Zeitgeist report, detailing the most searched for queries of 2012 by their users. Google has examined the 1.2 trillion searches performed throughout the past year and has provided top ten lists in various categories, such as trending image searches, and most searched for people.
