CDO Scotland has outlined a pathway for a return to dental practice. The crisis in UK dentistry was raised in the House of Lords when peers raised questions which highlighted to the Government the problems affecting dentists. The GDC rejected an appeal to mitigate the effect to ARF on the dental professions and the BDA has responded.

New research reveals that 38% of UK adults are snacking more while in lockdown. The Oral Health Foundation says prolonged snacking could have a significant impact on the UK’s health. Currently 31% of British adults have tooth decay while childhood tooth decay remains high.

Dentists from The British Association of Private Dentistry (BAPD) are calling for the resignation of the Chief Dental Officer of NHS England, Sara Hurley, Newsweek reports. The Association announced its vote of no confidence received 97.5% approval after what it called a dental "crisis" caused by the "unnecessary pain and suffering and even life-threatening situations some patients have had to face".
