Three dentists honoured by Queen

Appointed a Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) was Professor Newell Johnson, Professor of Dental Research, at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia. He is also Emeritus Professor of Oral Health, King’s College, London and until his appointment in Australia worked in this country. His award was for services to oral medicine and to public health internationally

Dr James Rennie, the former dean of postgraduate dental education at the Scottish Council for Postgraduate Medicine and Dental Education, has been aappointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). At the time of his retirement, tribute was paid to his ’pivotal role in leading the highest quality education and training for dental professionals in Scotland, including the highly successful delivery of the Scottish Government’s Dental Action Plan’.

Chris Kettler has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). He is well known in orthodontic circles as a past executive secretary of the British Orthodontic Society. He has for long had an orthodontic practice in Bedford.
