Bright Light Leadership announces new events

Bright Light Leadership, a new organisation set up to support dentists and senior members of their teams to develop new leadership skills and provide a foundation for dynamically improving their business, have announced the launch of a new series of events. Speakers are Dr Roger Matthews and Stephen Gates, formerly of Denplan.

With two award-winning speakers, these one-day events – “Leadership in Dental Practice – New Approaches and New Thinking” - will explore the important contribution of leadership in successful practices. These events will allow a deeper understanding of the CQC requirements on the standard of “Well Led”, enabling practices to ensure that they are meeting the regulatory requirements.

However, these events will go further in identifying how great leadership can radically transform the success of a practice – allowing the practice to benefit from the skills and talents of each team member and provide an unrivalled customer-experience.

Dr Roger Matthews, award-winning author and speaker on healthcare regulatory and quality issues, will co-host the events and said “Many dentists do not realise that the most commonly failed inspection criterion within a CQC inspection is in the category of “Well Led”. These events have therefore been designed to support the links between great leadership and the provision of ethical, sustainable and successful dental practices of all types and to allow dentists to demonstrate that they are far exceeding their regulatory requirements”.

Stephen Gates, winner of the “Inspirational Leader” award from the Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Companies to Work For’ during his 16-year tenure as MD of Denplan, will also co-host these events. “Many dentists are already demonstrating strong leadership in their practice”, Steve said, “and these events have been designed to take these skills to their next level and radically improve the business performance of their practice. By identifying key leadership ‘types’ and their impact, these events will allow dentists and practice leaders to understand their impact on those around them and to increase levels of team engagement and customer satisfaction to new heights”.

The seminars are presented in partnership with Dental Protection, who will also be speaking on the links between leadership and risk mitigation, in a presentation entitled “Better Leaders: Lower Risks”.

The delegate fee is £199, and each event will deliver 6 hours of enhanced CPD (under the terms of the 2018 GDC standards).

These events are open to dentists and senior practice leaders and will be held on;

  • Friday 19th January - Warrington
  • Friday 26th January - Birmingham
  • Friday 2nd February - East Grinstead
  • Friday 9th February - Leeds
  • Friday 23rd February - Newcastle
  • Friday 2nd March - Bristol
