Southern Dental sold to Jacobs Holding - report

Swiss investor Jacobs Holding has bought UK dental chain Southern Dental for an undisclosed sum, from its founder in its third attempt at a sale, according to wealthmonitor.com. The corporate owns 80 dental practices in the south of England and was founded in 2006 by Mazdak Eyrumlu, who will be exiting the business as part of the transaction.

Southern had two failed attempts at exiting to private equity buyers, and in the end the banks stepped in and forced the deal to happen, it has been reported. Southern is said to have had around £65m-£70m of debt, meaning that the estate which in 2014 was valued at £150m, is today probably worth around £70m - £80m.

However there has been no confirmation or comment from either Southern or Jacobs Holding.
