Minister David Mowat to oversee NHS dentistry

Following the recent Cabinet re-shuffle, Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, has rearranged ministerial responsibilities in the Department of Health. Under Secretary David Mowat includes all elements of primary care – including dentistry and pharmacy in his portfolio and Nicola Blackwood will be responsible for Dental Public Health.
David Mowat is MP for Warrington South, and was first elected in 2010. He is 59, and qualified as a chartered accountant. His Wikipedia page is here.
Department of Health ministerial responsibilities
Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt MP is in charge of all areas of health policy with a particular focus on overall financial control and oversight of all NHS delivery and performance. The Secretary of State will also lead on all aspects of mental health, championing patient safety and driving forward the Prime Minister’s agenda.
