New dean of Birmingham dental school announced

Professor Iain Chapple has been announced as the new head of the School of Dentistry at Birmingham University, with effect from 1st July 2016. He is currently Head of Periodontology at the University and a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Birmingham Community Health Trust.
Prof Chapple also holds Honorary Consultant contracts with the University Hospitals Birmingham Foundation Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
He has worked for the School of Dentistry for nearly 26 years and has published over 200 research papers. Iain has received major grants from the Medical Research Council, European Union and Industry. He is also a committed and enthusiastic teacher of undergraduate and postgraduate students within the College.
