Two dentists in Birthday Honours list

John Milne and Jenny Godson have been appointed MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. John Milne retired earlier this year and chairman of the BDA’s General Dental Practice Committee (GDPC). Jenny Godson is Consultant in Dental Public Health for the North of England.
John Milne is well known to members of GDPUK. He has worked for many years as a GDP in Wakefield and currently chairs its Local Dental Committee. A long-standing member of the GDPC (and before that the GDSC), he was elected to chair it in 2009, standing down after six years. Earlier this year he was appointed Senior National Dental Adviser at the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Jenny Godson is the Regional Consultant in Dental Public Health for the North of England with a lead in oral health improvement. She lead work on the 2nd edition of Smokefree and Smiling and the 3rd Edition of Delivering Better Oral Health. She has worked as a consultant in dental public health in Bradford and Airedale and across Yorkshire and Humber for over ten years.
