Five dentists honoured in New Year list

Five dentists have received honours in the 2015 New Year list. They are:
- CBE: Thomas Raymond (Ray) Watkins – Scotland
- OBE: Elizabeth Jones – London
- MBE: Jennifer Elizabeth Gallagher - London
- MBE: Gillian Davies – Greater Manchester
- BEM: Shazad Saleem - Manchester
Ray Watkins CBE was Consultant in Dental Public Health in NHS Grampian. From 1997 to 2007`he was Chief Dental Officer for Scotland.
Elizabeth Jones OBE is Postgraduate Dental Dean for London and receives her honour for services to dental education. She is also a lead dean (restorative specialties) with COPDEND.
Professor Jennifer Elizabeth GALLAGHER MBE is Professor of Oral Health Strategy, Kings College London and receives her honour for services to Oral Health.
Gillian Davies MBE is a specialist in Dental Public Health for Greater Manchester and the Dental Observatory, Public Health England. She receives her honour for services to Dental Public Health.
Shazad Saleem BEM is a dentist at Glodwick Dental Practice in Oldham. He was involved in a project entitled 'Delivering Better Oral Health in a NHS Dental Practice.'
