With the massive interest from the UK dental profession in the outcome of the BDA Judicial Review against GDC, in which the GDC Consultation was declared by Hon Justice Cranston in the High Court as unlawful, GDPUK had a record day of visitors to this dental website.
On an average day, around 4,000 people visit GDPUK, and on Thursday 18th December this rose to 10,200.
News articles published on the site attracted 12,000 readers within 24 hours, too.
GDPUK also shows banners for advertisers reaching the UK dental team, and on an average day around 60,000 banners are served, on Thursday over 130,000 banners were displayed.
Part of the earlier statistic about news items, the Open Letter calling on GDC CEO and Chair to resign attracted over 8,000 readers within a day, but even more remarkably for a small community, readers shared the artice over 750 times on Facebook and over 110 times on Twitter. This open letter is now the basis of a petition on Change.org.
GDPUK is proud to help to facilitate this interaction between dental professionals in the UK and further afield. The synergy created by use of the web and social media makes the unity of the profession even stronger.
