Post-Graduate

Hassaan Nasir (University of Sheffield)

Speaking at the event, Mr Worskett said that all of the entries had been of high quality; however the three winning entries particularly stood out. He said, “In the undergraduate categories, Chloe, and Eliska demonstrated an excellent understanding of dental practice management and professionalism, which is exactly what we were looking for. Dental students rightly focus on the clinical understanding of dentistry, which is obviously key to patient outcomes and quality of care. However not enough students leave university with a thorough understanding of how to run and manage a dental practice, which is vital in today’s system and this is something the ADG is keen to work with the dental schools to address. In the post-graduate category, Hassaan’s proposed project to improve oral health and awareness among children was well-planned, innovative and addresses what remains a major issue in many parts of the country.”

Mr Nasir, said he was thrilled to have won the prize, adding: “I’m very honoured to have been chosen as the post-graduate winner. I look forward to using the prize to develop my project. I think it is very important that dental students are able to develop projects such as this and I would implore students to get involved in work that helps prevent disease in the first place.”
