Baby teeth as jewellery for mothers

In one of the more bizarre trends coming from the USA, some parents are having their babies’ lost molar teeth cast in sterling silver and made into necklace pendants. Artist Jackie Kaufman, who creates these tooth pendants said she’s had about 100 orders for the unique necklaces so far. “This is better than the Tooth Fairy” she said.
The artist receives exfoliated teeth, casts them, and returns the original with the pendant, she told viewers on NBC's Good Morning America.
The idea may become more popular as the hit TV show Girls has one of the characters wearing one of the tooth pieces. The same artist also makes a wisdom tooth pendant, cast in gold, on a leather cord, for $700.
