GDC warns patients about a struck-off dentist
The General Dental Council (GDC) is advising the public that a dentist based in south west London is currently suspended from the Register and is therefore not permitted to treat patients in the UK. Mr Amir Kamburov, whose registered address is in Sutton in Surrey, was erased from the Register with immediate suspension on 11 July 2012.

On 8 August 2012, Mr Kamburov lodged an appeal against that decision; however he is still suspended and is not allowed to practise dentistry in the UK pending the outcome of that appeal. 

The GDC has received information that Mr Kamburov may still be practising dentistry at the Poplar Dental Practice, 190 Poplar Road South, London, SW19 3JY.  The GDC has taken the action of releasing this information in order to protect the public.

Mr Kamburov’s suspension is recorded on the GDC’s Registers, which is available to check at www.gdc-uk.org  If any patients have been treated by Mr Kamburov since 11 July 2012, they should contact the GDC’s Illegal Practice Team on 0207 009 2726 or 0207 009 2714.
