Philip Greene appointed President of BSP

Manchester perio specialist Philip Greene has recently been appointed as the President for the British Society of Periodontology (BSP). Dr Greene has been in general and specialist practice for over 40 years, and is highly experienced in all forms of periodontal surgical and non-surgical treatment and implantology.

 

Philip R. Greene qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1971 and, after a post as a House Officer went into General Practice. He was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1980.

From 1972 - 1997 he worked in both NHS and Private General practice, as well as developing a practice devoted to periodontics.

In 1998 he was accepted onto the newly established General Dental Council Specialist List in Periodontics and now devotes the greatest proportion of his time to periodontal practice, which includes dental implants.

Philip has taught in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Manchester Dental School and periodically repeats his "Effective Periodontics" practical seminar programme for the Department of Postgraduate Dentistry at Manchester University.

Philip was the founding Chairman of the Dental Practitioners Section of the British Society of Periodontology and is an International Member of the American Academy of Periodontology. He was a founder member of the Expert Witness Institute, also being listed in the Law Society Directory and the Register of Expert Witnesses.
