Dental Protection celebrates ten years of Trainingmatters

The first issue of Trainingmatters was published in 2003. In the intervening decade this publication has become a valued risk management resource for foundation trainers and advisers as well as a forum for debate. Dental Protection continues to support trainers and foundation dentists alike through its publications, the youngdentist.com website and by co-hosting the Young Dentist Conference to be held in London on 9 February 2013.

The latest edition of Trainingmatters is currently being distributed directly to trainers, advisers, managers and others involved in foundation training with the assistance of the Postgraduate Deaneries.

Kevin Lewis, Director of Dental Protection said, “Trainingmatters is just one of twenty-four publications that Dental Protection publishes in the course of a year. Their popularity is based on first-hand appreciation of the needs of the dental profession. Dental Protection supports you through a life in practice and even beyond; it is only logical that we should also be there for you at the start.”

In the latest issue of Trainingmatters;

  • Handling a foundation dentist complaint ; Phil Shaw
  • The fulfilling task of mentoring ; Ros Edlin
  • Safe Beginners ; Ian Gordon
  • Trainees in a pilot practice ; Len D?Cruz
  • The dento-legal implication of „competency? ; Raj Rattan
  • Managing a gap in the skill-set ; John Tiernan
  • Foundation dentists at the LDC Conference; Jim Lafferty

Additional copies of Trainingmatters can also be obtained directly from Dental Protection.
