BenFund dentist carries flame

Crowds were cheering dentist Tony Chivers on as he carried the Olympic Torch through the streets of Bournemouth on 13th July. 92-year-old Tony, who was nominated as a Torchbearer by the BDA Benevolent Fund, said, “It is a great honour to be chosen to carry the Olympic Flame as it travels round the country, and to do so in support of the Fund.”

Tony is a former Chairman of the Fund. His triumph provided the ideal launch for the ‘Be Active for the Ben Fund’ campaign. It is hoped that Tony’s achievement will inspire others to organise and take part in sporting and social activities for the year-long fundraising campaign.

Having completed a record-breaking year of applications for help, the Fund believes numbers will go on rising in the current economic climate. Please Be Active for the Fund, in any way you can, and help your colleagues in need.
