The results of the most recent practice goodwill survey have just been released by The National Association of Specialist Dental Accountants and Lawyers (NASDAL). The sales market is still in robust form with NHS practices commanding high values even though Private and Mixed practices may have seen a small fall back in terms of deals done.

Oral health problems such as gum disease and tooth loss have been linked to frailty in older British men, a new study has revealed. Dr Nigel Carter, Chief Executive of the Oral Health Foundation, says older adults are more likely to experience issues in the mouth and this can have a direct effect on their overall wellbeing.

He has got a £10,000 loan from RefuAid which supports skilled refugees back into work and has so far helped 12. Mohammed Al-Homsi qualified in Syria but needs to re-qualify to practise in the UK.

The Local Government Association has claimed that hospitals carried out multiple tooth extractions on around 170 children every working day in the UK last year. There were 42,911 hospital procedures to remove teeth from patients aged 18 and under in 2016-17 at a cost of more than £36 million. There has been a rise of 17% over the past four years, up from 36,833 in 2012-13.
The Oral Health Foundation has inaugurated Professor Liz Kay MBE as their new President. Professor Kay commented on how proud she was on her appointment: "I have supported the Oral Health Foundation for very long time and I am honoured to be elected President.”
