Media Pack

GDPUK can offer a number of options when it comes to advertising with us. Below you will find information regarding the main webpage and forum.

On the website, clickable banners appear on the forum and throughout the site, being displayed around one million times per month. The banners can link directly to your website which would then promote the specific product or service of your choice. Banners are usually sold a month at a time.

There are a number of banner sizes available

The masthead banner, sized 468 x 60 is permanent and appears on all pages of the website.

The leaderboard banner shown immediately above, sized 728 by 90 px, appears across the site, on the home page, news pages, articles and at the top of all forums. This is the best supported and most widely seen banner.

In the forum, and on home page and news pages, GDPUK also displays three rectangluar banners, sized 300px by 250px, and example is shown below.

In addition, GDPUK offers a data collection service linked to banners, whereby a registered member enters details which are passed on by email to your salesforce to contact them directly.

Please see email and app pages to read banner sizes and specs there.

GDPUK.com Banner Requirements

All our banners are industry-standard IAB sizes.

Important Notes regarding Flash Files:

  • All files MUST have an embedded clickable URL.
This is also known as a clickTAG.
Please set the attribute to _blank so when clicked, the browser will open a new tab for your linked page to open.
This can be achieved by adding a transparent button in the top layer of the movie that covers the entire banner.
  • The ad-serving program cannot create a clickable and trackable link if the original did not have one created in this way.
  • Please also supply the exact URL (http://) for the link.
  • You should provide a backup jpg file if you wish your ads to be served in non-flash enabled browsers or devices. It is worth noting for example that Apple’s iPad or iPhone does not support Flash!
  • Please do not use the background layer for background graphics.
Such graphics and effects can be added to any layer above the ‘background’. When displayed by the ad-serving software, the background will be set to transparent so that menus on the site work correctly - any information in the background layer will not be visible.
  • Please avoid rapidly strobing effects in your movie.

We can produce your banners for you at a competitive price if required. Access to banner statistics can be provided to you through the ad-serving software.

Email banners should be provided in jpeg format, gif or animated gif. Please limit the size of animated gifs to 100kb or therabouts. Rich media filetypes like Flash are not supported in emails.

For static internet banners please provide files in jpg format. If animated banners are required please supply in Flash format and see the notes above regarding backup files.

Your advertising budget will go much further on GDPUK.com than a comparable magazine.
