A Turkish dental services provider is preparing to open an office in the UK, with plans to establish a separate treatment centre in the future.
Magic Touch Dental Clinic, which operates from two locations in Antalya, Türkiye, is opening the office in Carlisle in the first week of December.
The premises, in a chicken shop on the city centre’s English Street, will provide a base for consultations with UK-based patients, the News and Star first reported. The number of staff employed at the office has yet to be decided.
A company representative told GDPUK: ‘It’s going to be an office to see our patients face to face, and there won’t be any treatment going on there.’
The company has operated in Antalya for ten years and has been treating international patients for the past seven.
Its services include dental implants, crowns, Emax veneers and composite veneers, with treatment packages also offering accommodation and airport transfers.
The company representative said: ‘We have lots of patients from the UK and that’s why it was a good choice to open an office there and see our patients in person.
‘It’s not possible to do anything there right now but at least maybe we’ll have X-rays and treatment plans in the future.’
The representative added that a separate clinic offering dental treatment could potentially open within a year, although its location has yet to be decided.
GDPUK revealed earlier this year that the GDC is concerned that private clinics from Türkiye may be holding illegal ‘dental tourism’ events in UK hotels.
Turkish dental firms are flying over to Britain and hosting free meet-ups for prospective patients in venues including the DoubleTree by Hilton and the Radisson Blu.
GDPUK found numerous adverts for upcoming events on Facebook and they will be taking place in hotels in Bristol, Birmingham, Croydon in South London, Newcastle and Norwich throughout May and June.
