Oasis takes over vacated practice in Tewkesbury

Oasis Dental Care has taken over an NHS dental clinic in Tewkesbury, that was vacated by My Dentist on March 31st, when the corporate moved out. There were fears that some of its 7,000 patients could struggle to find somewhere else to go to. NHS bosses have responded by arranging for the site to be filled by Oasis.

Missing Hull woman: dentist husband charged

The husband of a missing Hull woman has appeared in court to face charges. Renata Antczak, 49, was last seen near her home in Hull after dropping her daughter off at school on 25 April. Her dentist husband Majid Mustafa, 47, is accused of conspiracy to administer a noxious substance to Mrs Antczak. Police said they were still treating her disappearance as "a missing person inquiry".

LDC Conference chaired skilfully and with some humour

Day 2 of this year’s LDC Conference was chaired by Alisdair McKendrick skilfully and with humour. The remaining motions were debated, with full scope for discussion. Chair of BDA GDPC, Henrik Overgaard-Nielson, outlined the work of the committee in the last year. Presentations were also made by John Milne and Professor Nairn Wilson.

Lively start to LDC Conference

This year’s LDC Conference opened in Birmingham, chaired by Alisdair McKendrick. Themes that emerged included the poor oral health of some children, problems with the prototype contracts, underfunding and clawback. An innovation, a ‘Question Time’ debate, allowed representatives to question the CDO (England) and GDPC chair amongst others.
