Thousands of London children with oral pain are being taken by parents to pharmacies and non-dental health services, including A&E, instead of their dentist, and could be costing NHS England £2.3 million a year, according to research led by Queen Mary University of London.

But Reuters reports that Henry Schein Inc and Patterson Cos Inc have bigger things to worry about than Amazon potentially disrupting the niche dental-equipment market they dominate in the US.

The BDA and other primary care leaders have told Government to act now to stop flawed implementation of EU data regulations heaping unnecessary additional burdens on high street health providers. In a joint letter, the groups have called on Minister for Digital and Culture Margot James to drop plans to require all NHS providers to appoint a Data Protection Officer.
