She said: “There is clear and compelling evidence regarding not only the health benefits, but fiscal dividends to investing in oral health.”

Denture shop owner fined

A denture shop owner who made false teeth worn by the Still Game character Methadone Mick has been fined £1,800 for illegal dentistry. After a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court, John Nicol, 73,was convicted of practising as an unregistered dentist. Outside court, Nicol said people came to his firm, Speedy Dentures, after "terrible treatment from dentists".

Fewer than half of practices seeing new patients - BBC

A BBC report this morning (Sept 6) claims that 48% of practices are not accepting new adult patients, while 40% are not accepting new child patients. In an interview on the Breakfast programme, Henrik Overgaard-Nielsen said the Government had only commissioned enough dentistry to treat half the population.
