A few hours before scheduled questions in parliament about the NHS dental access crisis, and no doubt by sheer coincidence, the CDO has revealed yet another initiative.

Direct to consumer (DTC) orthodontics is just the sort of service where the public might hope for some regulation to protect them from possible harm. For some time now the two regulators that supposedly protect the public when it comes to dentistry in the UK, have been remarkably hands off.
Following the annual renewal period for dentists, the GDC has revealed the number that are now on the register. For the third year in a row there has been a slight increase, when compared to the average over the last four years.
As the general conversation about the NHS begins to recognise that dramatic changes may be needed, the Government of Jersey may just have shown the shape of things to come.
