Jason Wong made MBE in New Year Honours

General Dental Practitioner, Dr Jason Wong, becomes an MBE in the New Year Honours List 2020. It has been awarded for services to Dentistry and Oral Health. He has interests in Oral Health promotion & Implant Dentistry, and is an LDC Secretary and Local Dental Network Chair. Also honoured is well known retired Manchester dentist, Dr Peter Kurer, awarded BEM for services to Holocaust Education.
There were no other ’dental’ honours, but Baroness Floella Benjamin, who has championed children’s oral health and said it needs to be on the Government’s agenda and NHS dentistry needs to be properly funded, becomes a Dame Commander of the Ordee of the British Empire (DBE).
The Chief Executive of NHS England, Sir Simon Stevens, has been knighted.
