Kings is top UK university for dentistry

Dentistry at King’s has again been ranked first in the UK, and has risen to fourth in the world, in the 2016 QS World University Rankings. Also in the top 50, UCL London came 6th, Birmingham 19th, Manchester 24th, Newcastle 32nd and Bristol 38th. . Top in the world rankings  was Hong Kong, 2nd Michigan USA and 3rd Tokyo, Japan.

The QS rankings highlight the world’s top universities across 42 popular subject areas. Institutions are assessed on academic reputation, citations to publications and employer reputation to give an overall score

King’s Dental Institute scored 86.4 overall, with 83.1 for academic reputation and 89.2 for citations per paper, moving up the global table from seventh place in 2015 to the number four position. Executive Dean Professor Dianne Rekow said: ‘Rising to fourth in the global rankings reaffirms our position as a world-class institution and reflects the dedication, commitment and innovation of our academic and professional staff, our students, and our alumni.’ 

The QS World University Rankings by Subject has been published annually since 2011.
