Dental complaints down NHS figures show
Dentistry has bucked the trend for increasing complaints about NHS services in England, new statistics suggest. Data released by the NHS Information Centre shows that written complaints for dental services in hospital and community health services, as well as in general dental practice services, have fallen.

According to information supplied to the Information Centre written complaints about NHS hospital and community dental services in England were down 18 per cent from 980 in 2010-11 to 804 in 2011-12. The number of complaints reported about general dental practice health services in England also fell, from 8,321 in 2010-11 to 8,197 in 2011-12, a drop of 1.9 per cent.

This research adds to a body of evidence suggesting high levels of satisfaction with NHS dentistry, including a recent study by Results International which revealed that 47 per cent of patients think dentists have a good customer service attitude.
