| Rumours have finally been laid to rest in the UK dentistry as Dublin-based Smiles Dental has taken over JHA (James Hull Associates). CEO of Smiles Dental Emmet O’Neill is delighted to become involved with the JHA group, and is excited about what he can do for each practice across the UK. |

O’Neill said: “We will be devising strategies on a practice-by-practice basis, tailoring every plan individually. JHA has a diverse range of practices between the NHS, general private practices, and then those that offer high-end specialist services. Each market segment needs to be treated accordingly. We are working with all the practitioners and staff at the moment to determine what each practice needs so that we can begin to provide it.
“It has been fantastic to receive so much feedback from various clinicians, and all the staff have been just phenomenal! With all the changes and doubts they’ve had to live with for the last few months, I think they are just pleased everything is finalised. It’s a win-win situation and I have received great support from the existing JHA staff.”
Looking ahead to the future of JHA, Emmet is committed to creating practical and realistic plans for each practice. “Words are cheap and actions are everything. I have communicated with all clinicians at JHA to fill them in on our general hopes and plans for the future, but we want them to have their say too. At the end of the day, we have world-class practitioners at JHA, and we need to match this with the facilities and service provided to patients.”
As CEO of both Smiles Dental and JHA, Emmet hopes to form a working relationship that benefits both companies. “As a business, there is much we can learn from JHA, and equally Smiles Dental has a lot to offer. One major advantage for both companies will be the chance to create internship programmes and enhanced networking opportunities for all clinicians involved. Top quality practitioners at JHA have a lot they could teach some of those at Smiles Dental, and vice versa for those who are looking to move their dentistry abroad.”
With extensive experience in a range of different businesses, Emmet O’Neill has all the tools to restore certainty to JHA dental practices. His passion for success of this project will ensure JHA practices continue to promote excellence in dentistry for years to come.
