“This policy might suit the Treasury, but will put patients, staff, and the very sustainability of NHS dentistry at risk.” Shawn Charlwood, Chair of the BDA’s GDPC said, adding “These new NHS targets are the wrong choice at the wrong time. The country faces a tidal wave of infection. Dentists are understandably nervous about easing restrictions, and patients are already cancelling in droves.”

A High Court judge has overruled a decision made by the General Dental Council’s Professional Conduct Committee to suspend a dentist subject to review, by imposing erasure from the dental register.
The Information Commissioner’s Office has decided in the General Dental Council’s favour following a complaint from a dentist about the way his Freedom of Information request had been handled.
